Read Ephesians 4:29-32

The word “juxtaposed” as a word that is defined as; “To place or deal with close together for contrasting effect : black-and-white photos of slums were starkly juxtaposed with color images.”

So now here in our text is a juxtaposition. As a matter of fact this entire 4th chapter could be described as juxtapositional. Here is placed before us a contrast between the “old man” with all of his selfish, self serving, manipulative, sinful and mean attitudes… a man we are told to “put off”.

The contrast is with the “new man” who has been indwelled by the Holy Spirit of God. Created in the image of Christ and relieved from the penalty of his sin and given new life this “new man” can now walk in “newness of life”.
